Our office was engaged to design and deliver this café within an existing heritage space, carefully balancing contemporary requirements with the building’s heritage. Once home to a greengrocer and confectioner, later a tea room and mixed business, the site has long been defined by honest offerings and a strong connection to its local community, this became central to the design approach.

The design concept embraces the building’s layered past, using natural materiality to create an approachable and grounded space that feels balanced, intentional, and considered. Every element was designed with purpose and meaning, local artisans and makers were integral to the project celebrating authenticity through craftsmanship and detail.
