Located in the tranquil beachside suburb of Cottesloe, Andrews Place II is quietly anchored to its coastal setting, drawing on the client’s pastoral upbringing in Western Australia’s agricultural heartland. Our team was engaged to design a residential sanctuary that both embraces the daily cadence of active family life.
Throughout, interior and exterior spaces are seamlessly interwoven, guided by crisply defined lines and an abundance of natural light channelled through the home’s south-west orientation. Within the building’s restrained framework, a nuanced material palette takes centre stage with creamy travertine, peach-hued rammed earth, and honeyed timber responding to the local landscape, reflecting the pale sands and expansive skies. Each living space is thoughtfully configured to maintain a sense of both individuality and fluid continuity, resulting in a cohesive spatial narrative that unfolds organically.
The entry sequence choreographs a graceful transition between the exterior and interior realms, capturing a liminal moment that resonates with the coastal lifestyle—an interplay between the dynamic coastal climate and a calm interior haven. Movement into the open air is gently encouraged through a careful orchestration of framed vistas and a centrally placed outdoor domain — complete with a pool and outdoor shower.
