Mineral Resources HQ
Osborne Park, WA
Australian property development group, Charter Hall engaged us to help transform the public realm of Bankwest Place with a design that honours Whadjuk Noongar Country’s distinctive landscape and rich culture. Inspired by the region’s distinct natural landforms, our design placed emphasis on the concept of formation, using layers, shapes and angles that honour the tones and textures of Western Australia to create an intricate yet all-encompassing space that responds to the site’s unique location in the centre of a premium CBD retail district.
The building’s grandeur design was defined by stone ribbon wrapped glazed façade, acting as a datum for the human scale of the building’s entrance and drawing users in through an inviting abundance of natural light. Internally, a concerted mix of warm timber, stone and metal textures juxtapose the deep orange hues that accent throughout the space.

In an ode to its heritage era, the interiors featured a rich palette of colours, ornamented timber joinery, and steel-glazed windows and doors which were thoughtfully integrated to enhance the building's original features.
Through this, we created an immersive experience that connects visitors to the building's storied past and unifies the entire building. Through preservation of the building in its heritage state, The Royal was transformed into a dynamic destination that proudly promotes a harmonious fusion of history and modernity.
